From the Pastor

September is always a busy month.  School has started, children are going back to college, churches are beginning their fall programs, and football has started.  The earth is beginning to change as plant growth has slowed, the leaves are turning, and the feel of fall is in the air.

At our church, our fall church school begins September 7th, and we will also have a pancake breakfast after the 9 am worship service.  You will find a detailed article in the newsletter about our kick-off.  I invite you to come on September 7th, bring your neighbors, friends, and relatives, and let’s fill the church.  I truly enjoy our Sunday mornings together.  I always have fond memories of going to church, going to Sunday School, and then going out to eat or enjoying a Sunday dinner at home, and going for a Sunday drive.

I always try to make worship uplifting and inspiring.  Music is a very important part of worship.  We are so blessed to have the music groups at Northglenn.  Patricia Strauch joins us as our organist/pianist.  She is accompanist for the Northland Chorale who practice at our church.  We are blessed to have her.  We thank Holly Brooks for her service as our youth/children’s choir director.  She is still a church member, but has resigned as our director.

We have our traditional worship service at 9 am, Sunday School, then our Praise and Worship service at 11 am, and our Asian worship service at 3 pm.  The children may leave following the sermon at the 9 am service to go to Sunday School.  Our Sunday School Program consists of Drama, Music, and a Lesson.  A nursery is also available on Sunday mornings.

If you have any ideas on how we can improve our Sunday morning experience together, please let me know.  Have a great fall, enjoy the season, and as the earth changes, may God change us.

 Peace,

Rev. Jim Harris
