2008-2008 Kick-Off

We are holding our UMYF Kick-off event on Saturday, September 6 at 6 pm.  Parents and you (along with the rest of the family) are invited to come to the Fellowship Hall for a potluck dinner.  Please bring a dish to share.  Drinks, cups, plates, and utensils will be provided.  It is important that parents attend the potluck to get paperwork and forms filled out.  Also, please bring a calendar with you.  After the potluck the youth are invited to stay at church for a lock-in.  We will have fun, games, and more!!!  I hope to see you all there.

Busy, busy, busy!!!  That is how the beginning of our year is starting out.  There are so many fun things to do and so many opportunities for our youth.  I really hope ALL the youth of our church will come and join us for a fun and exciting year.  All youth members are welcome to come to any event that we have.  We have fun activities, mission opportunities, and much more to choose from, so please come to our Kick-Off Potluck and learn about all the opportunities UMYF has to offer.  If you can’t make it to the potluck, but would like to be on the email list so that  you get updates about activities and opportunities in the future, please email Bethany Greiner at maddiesmom2687@msn.com and ask to be put on the UMYF email list.

If you have any ideas for activities or events our youth would enjoy, please contact me, or bring your ideas to the next Youth Council Meeting.  The Youth Council Meetings are always the first Sunday of each month at 5 pm.  Youth Council Meetings are always open to anyone who wants to come help make decisions for our group.   By Bethany Greiner

September 14 –UMYF 5-8 pm Movie Night, dinner provided

September 20 – Parents’ Night Out

September 21 – Hang Out Night or Games at the Park (weather depending)

September 28 – Denver Rescue Mission 7:30-9 pm

October 5 – Corn Maze

October 10, 11, 12 – Fall Retreat at LaForet

October 18 – Crop Walk in the morning,Parents’ Night Out in the evening

October 19 – Meet After Church to Pass out flyers for Trick or Treat So Others Can Eat

October 26 – 5 pm Trick or Treat So Others Can Eat, Halloween “Trunk or Treat”between services

November 2 – Bowling at Chippers 6-8 pm, Pizza and soda included

November 9 – UMYF 5-8 pm Movie Night, Dinner provided

November 15- Parents’ Night Out

November 16 – Hang Out Night

November 23 – Food For All !!!

Confirmation Corner-If you were a mentor from our last confirmation group and no longer need your materials, please bring them by the office to be reused next year.  If you have a current 6^th grader, start looking for information coming up about next year’s confirmation classes.
